Testing the waters
I am very pleased to announce that I am now 100 percent certain that English will become the global language.
Of course, I have long suspected this, practically since the day I was born, but I withheld absolute confidence in the conclusion because of the possibility that Chinese would become a serious contender. Now, finally, the Economist has disspelled my remaining doubt with this article.
The best reaction to this news is to convert — and as you see I am already preparing. I intend to convert my blogging activity completely some day, but for now I will only test the waters — I will switch back and forth, writing in English only when I have the patience for thesaurus-browsing.
A note about my grammar: I wont even try to get all the apostrophes right. I use them when I need them. With this as an exception, I would like to encourage you to correct me if you can. (There is no better way to learn than to err.)
